TIPS FOR VISITING BERLIN MUSEUM ISLAND

Go on vacation, end-of-grade trip, getaway or simply a day spent in Berlin, it is almost mandatory to leave a space to walk Museum Island you're going to love it!

It is known by this name because it is located in the middle of the Spree River and there you will find five of the most important museums in all of Germany. The moment you set your first foot in it, the culturet blood will begin to flow through your veins. Shall we start the visit?

Pergamon Museum

It is made up of three museums in turn:

  1. The Antigua Collection, which holds great architectural surprises and sculptures.
  2. The Museum of Islamic Art
  3. The Near East Museum

It is currently under construction and, as planned, we will not be able to enjoy the museum in its entirety again until 2025. But so that all of you who go are not left at the doors of this treasure, you will be able to access the parts that correspond to the Museum of Islamic Art, Ishtar Gate... and that's as far as we can write, now it's time for you to tell us!

Regarding the price of tickets, students, do not forget your ID because you will have special discounts. We recommend that you buy your tickets in advance so you don't have to waste a second in the long lines that crowd at the ticket offices. The hours in which you can make your visit will be from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except for Thursdays when they close a little later, at 8:00 p.m.

Bode Museum

In addition to having incredible views of the island, this museum has become one of the most charming places in Berlin. It was rebuilt due to the damage it suffered during World War II and currently houses the Museum of Byzantine Art and the Numismatic Collection.

In this case, the price ranges between 4 and 8 euros and the hours are the same as those of the Pergamon Museum, being open on Thursdays until 10:00 p.m.

New Museum

Write down your schedule in your diary, from ten in the morning to six in the afternoon, except Thursdays! You already know that this day they close a little later, so you can take advantage until eight. As for the entrance, if you are students, it will cost you €6 and the normal ticket will cost €12.

Old National Gallery

You will easily distinguish it by its staircase at the entrance. The museum is made up of one of the most extensive collections of sculptures and paintings in all of Germany, going through Classicism, Romanticism, Impressionism or Contemporary Art, there is something for all tastes! In this case, this visit is highly recommended for all painting lovers and those who don't, you will be impressed!

The price of admission for adults is €10 and €5 for students. You can go any day from 10 to 6 in the afternoon, having a few more hours on Thursdays to take advantage of it, since it closes at 10 at night.

Ancient Museum

You are looking at the oldest museum in all of Germany, as its name tells us. In this case you will recognize it by the enormous façade, which, without a doubt, makes it one of the most monumental. A journey to the past through sculptures hundreds of years old, from Greece and Rome to even earlier cultures.
This time the entrance, as in the previous one, is €10 and €5 for those who have a student card and the schedule is the same. Remember that on Thursdays you have more time to visit it!
